In CasparCloud, each user is uniquely identified with a username, password, and role permissions profile. The profile determines which features a user can access and what the user can do with the data. The username must be in the format of an email address, for example, forename.surname@organisation.com and each username must be unique. Only users with Super Admin (SA) permission are permitted to create new users and for security reasons, we recommend only one Super Admin user per customer site.
The SA does however have the facility to promote other users to SA status on a time-limited basis if required.
Each user is assigned 1 of 5 permission roles:
Super Administrator (SA) – the SA has access to the entire CasparCloud application and in addition to the core System Administration features the SA also has the following specific responsibilities:
- Create/Delete user
- Update Site Details
- View and report on the system Audit Trail
- View and manage system Jobs
- Edit/delete client notes (all notes are saved as read-only by default)
- Delete client letters
- Delete OPG Reports
- GDPR client deletion
Manager – access to all client and administration functions except those responsibilities specific listed under the SA role
Full User – create/edit access to all Read-Only functionality (notes cannot be edited)
Read-Only User – read-only access to the entire system
Dashboard User– access to the Dashboard only (read-only)
User permissions can be further customised by the nominated user to accommodate any permissions not covered by the standard user roles available.
From the User Maintenance page, it is also possible to check the status of a user’s Two-Factor Authentication (2FA).
CREATING A NEW USER

- Click the Add New button
The New User pop-up will display as shown below:
